Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you file a report we collect: your name, phone number, email address, and mailing address; the content of your report, whether typed or voice-recorded; any documents, photos, or other files you choose to attach; and, if you explicitly opt in, your device's geolocation coordinates. If you make a donation or request Expedited Filing, we collect your email address and your donation preferences.

2. Why we collect it

• Name, phone, and email — only so reviewers can reach out for additional information about your report, and to send your report confirmation.
• Address and (optional) geolocation — so your report can be associated with your area and routed to the correct regional batch.
• Report content, voice notes, and attachments — the report itself.
• Donation details — to process your support and send confirmations.

3. What never happens

Your name, phone, email, and address are never included in anything submitted to ICE. We do not sell your information, rent it, or share it with marketers. There are no tracking pixels or advertising profiles on this site.

4. Storage and destruction

Report data and media are stored in a dedicated, access-controlled cloud storage bucket used only for the reporting pipeline. After each batch is submitted to ICE through their tip form, every report record associated with that batch is destroyed — content, voice notes, attachments, and all. What remains is the anonymous line in a batch that has already left. Queue bookkeeping (your report number and place in line) is retained only as long as needed to send your confirmations and honor refund requests.

5. Emails

We email you exactly two kinds of messages: your report confirmation (number and place in line) and, if you request Expedited Filing, your expedited confirmation. Donation confirmations are sent for gifts. You will never receive marketing email from us.

6. Your choices

You may file a report without sharing your geolocation — the button is optional. You may request deletion of any pending report that has not yet been batched by emailing support@reportillegalsnearyou.com. Once a batch has been submitted, its records are already destroyed.

7. Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
